My Bio:

(Destin, Florida  June 2009)

I am originally from the Destin area of N.W. Florida. I have 16 years of diverse experience in the hair industry. I attended the Von Curtis Academy of Hair Design in Provo, Utah. Upon graduation, I became the hair assistant and salon manager for my mentor, Bobby Von Jones at his namesake salon  in Ft. Walton Bch, Fl.  Then I served a 2 year, full time volunteer mission for my church in Buffalo & Rochester New York. I loved my time serving the people & communities of Western NY! Since then I've been a self employed hair artist in Utah, and for the last 11 years, in the Destin & Santa Rosa Beach area of Florida. There, I enjoyed serving a diverse and very exclusive (& loyal) clientelle, while traveling the globe for training,as well as salon & cultural research. My clients moved to Destin from cities from all over the world and many traveled over an hour, one way, every 4-6 weeks,  to keep their regularly scheduled appointments.  Now that I've relocated to AZ, many of them have even flown to Scottsdale to continue receiving my services! So,while I'm building my clientelle here in AZ, I fly back to Destin every 6 weeks to color & cut a very exclusive clientelle that just couldn't live without me!

No one has ever cut my hair the way Alan does. He is simply the best. As a Mom with a busy life, I look forward to spending a spa-like experience while Alan cuts my hair. He begins by washing your hair with a neck and head massage that will leaving you wanting more! I trust him emphatically with my hair. I have complete confidence in his ability. We never have to discuss what he is doing. I trust him to work his wonders and walk away looking amazing every time! Once Alan cuts your hair I assure you that you will never go anywhere else!

ALAN is the best stylist west of the Mississippi (and east as well) . . . at the age of 59, after years of hot rollers and mediocre haircuts, I found the only stylist who took one look at me and new exactly what I needed. I had always tried to talk to my stylists about a new "do" for me, but they showed no creativeness, and generally just cut my hair like it had been. With ALAN, he talked to me about what he thought, showed me as he was cutting what the result would be, and styled my hair showing me each step I could do at home to achieve the same fantastic results. My friends and coworkers were amazed at the difference! I walked into a wedding reception with my son one evening and my own mother said "I wondered who that cute young girl was coming in with my grandson!" Fun comments like that all the time. We experimented with product to make sure we had the right shampoos/styling product/spray that worked and I liked. Again, noone has ever taken so much time, cared so much or been such a boon to my "hair" ego. And I haven't even gotten started on my color . . . being that I am very grey, my base/highlights & lowlights gave me a youthful appearance as well as my cut. Visiting ALAN will be one of your smartest moves ever!!!

I have been a client of Alan's for over 10 years. I never have to worry. I just ALWAYS get the BEST hair cut and color. He covers my grey and makes me look younger with the latest style. He loves what he is doing, never rushes, and gives an awesome head and neck massage when he is shampooing. Alan is truly decicated and committed to making sure I am happy and feel good about my hair. The best part is: I am always being ask-"Who does your Hair?"

Alan Cawthon is a true professional. I have been a client of Alan's for about 9 years and have never even considered going to another stylist! Your session will begin with an amazing wash - making you feel "close to comatose". The transformation continues with a cut that is always painstakingly perfect, as Alan always takes his time to make sure you are happy. What I always appreciate is that he never allows himself to be distracted. He has a great time - it is obvious he loves his job, but his focus is on you. You cannot go wrong having Alan color and cut your hair. I always get positive feedback when he is done!

I've been a loyal customer of Alan's. His color, cut, and style capability always leaves me feeling and looking FABULOUS! Alan's attention to detail makes him the exceptional hair artist he is. I have had Alan creating and coloring my hair for over 9 years. I love versatility and that is exactly what I get when I go to Alan. He always knows exactly what I want and need to have my hair look great. Over the nine years I have had long, short, straight, highlights, lowlights, brown, blonde, etc., you name it I’ve asked for it and everytime Alan is up to date on the latest styles, colors, and products to do just what I want. Its never a dull moment with Alan and its always a wonderful professional experience!. Besides leaving with a great look the shampoo/head and neck massage from Alan is my favorite part - you'll love it!

I won't go anywhere else. Alan is the the best.

Alan has been taking care of my hair for years. I moved away for a while and tried other stylist, but no one compared to Alan; I ended up traveling over an hour so I could have Alan do my hair. I have naturally wavy hair and Alan does a great job texturizing my hair so it looks it's best curly or straight. I appreciate the time Alan takes to perfect my hair, I won't go to anyone else.

I would highly recommend Alan at Green W/Envy! I'd never had my hair colored prior to my first visit and was surprised at how natural it looked. He is an expert at hair color. My cut, as well, was outstanding. Better than ever!!! His scalp massage while shampooing was fabulous! I'd highly recommend all stylists take notes on this technique. Definitely will recommend him to EVERYONE I see. Go see ALAN now :)
